It’s best to clarify with your counsellor or therapist how they define and approach counselling or therapy.

My role is to create a non-judgmental and supportive environment where you can openly express your thoughts and emotions. The duration of counselling varies depending on individual needs, goals, and the complexity of the issues being addressed. Some individuals may require only a few sessions to resolve a specific concern, while others may engage in longer-term counselling for ongoing support or deeper personal growth. Each session can be 50 minutes or an hour long.

Its success often depends on your readiness for change, willingness to actively participate, the therapeutic relationship between you and your counsellor, and the appropriateness of the approaches used. While counselling has proven to be effective for many people, it’s important to note that results may vary, and it may take time to achieve the desired outcomes.

To make the most of your counselling sessions, consider the following tips:

  • Be open and honest with your counsellor about your experiences and expectations.
  • Clarify your goals and what you hope to achieve through counselling.
  • Prepare any questions or topics you would like to discuss.

Remember, these are general suggestions, and you should feel free to adapt them to your own preferences and needs.

The cost of counselling can vary depending on factors, such as, location and the type of services provided. My fees are as follows:

  • Individual Sessions $195
  • Sliding scale: apply if you may be eligible.
  • Pay by Cash, Cheque, e-transfer

A minimum of 48-hours notice is needed for you to avoid paying for a scheduled session.

Most extended benefit plans cover clinical counselling services. However, it’s important to contact your insurance provider directly or consult their website to understand the extent of their coverage for counselling services.

  • After each session you will receive an invoice to make a payment. After you make the payment, you will receive an official receipt to submit to your insurance company.
  • There are different ways of making payment. You can pay with cash, debit cards, Interac E-Transfer, and by cheque.
